The IGLOO™ Downlight Cover - Developed by In-Ceiling Technologies made to meet the Australian Requirements for the protection against fire danger
and insure maximum insulation protection.
Halogen Downlights can reach a temperature of 200-300 degrees celsius. The IGLOO™ Downlight Cover was developed by a Product Design Engineer according to the needs of insulation installers combined with the requirements of the Building Code of Australia.
The few downlight covers available require full reinstallation by a qualified electrician. They also do NOT adhere to the government standards, they have forgotton about the transformer protection (the transformers get hot too) and a few are even made out of compressed cardboard.
When designing the IGLOO™, we wanted a quick fit system, requiring NO tools to install and that can fit into any location within the roof. It takes only 20 seconds to install the IGLOO™ without the use of knives, cutters, disconnection of any component of the downlight. The IGLOO™ even has a transformer holder that holds the transformer away from any insulation or roofing elements allowing air to circulate to cool the transformer.
It does NOT need an electrician to uninstall and reinstall the downlight when attching the IGLOO™ cover.The covers can be installed by the home handyman. To add to that, it is made of Fire Retardant materials, meets all Australian standards, and best of all is Australian made, by an Australian Owned company.
