The IGLOO™ Downlight Cover - Developed by In-Ceiling Technologies made to meet the Australian Requirements for the protection against fire danger and insure maximum insulation protection.
Halogen Downlights can reach a temperature of 200-300 degrees celsius. The IGLOO™ Halogen Downlight Cover was developed by a Product Design Engineer according to the needs of insulation installers combined with the requirements of the Building Code of Australia.
Installed Insulation like this provides NO R value
BCA (Building Code of Australia) have put together information regarding the minimum R value for insulation. In an average house, with 3 downlights like the picture, there is no point having insulation. Over 90%
of homes with downlights have little or NO R value from insulation.

Why do you need Downlight Covers?
Did you realise that it is a mandatory government requirement since 2009 that ALL downlights have to be covered with some form of Downlight Cover. There have been too many fires from installers installing insulation over the top of downlights without shielding.
